Pace vs calendar
We divide the gap by your weekly pace and show a range, because real weeks aren’t straight lines. Safer loss is often around 0.5–1% of body weight per week, labeled as a planning guess.
Why 3500-kcal over-promises
The old “3,500 kcal = 1 lb” rule treats the body like a bank account. Adaptive burn, water, and a smaller body slow the scale. If you enter TDEE and intake we use ~7,700 kcal/kg as a midpoint, then stretch the date range slower on purpose.
Recalculating as weight drops
Maintenance falls as you get smaller. This page does not re-run Mifflin. Get a new TDEE on the TDEE calculator, size the cut on the deficit calculator, then come back.
