Bar not moving in the gym? That’s the gym plateau diagnostic.

What counts as a plateau

One high weigh-in is water. A plateau here means the weekly average has been roughly flat for 3–4 weeks while you thought you were in a deficit.

Logging, weekends, steps

We rank tracking error, water, NEAT/steps, or a smaller body. Fix one. Gym stalls are the gym plateau diagnostic.

Diet breaks vs another cut

If logging is honest and steps held, eat at maintenance for a bit or recast TDEE — don’t slash another 500 on day one. Recalculate maintenance on the TDEE calculator.
